On May 16, rain could not stop over 40 parkies from convening to discuss the state of North Brooklyn’s parks. OSA provided an update on capital projects in the neighborhood. Lisa Bloodgood of Newtown Creek Alliance shared the Newtown Creek Visioning Plan and opportunities for over 35 acres of new parkland along the creek! OSA also reported on some of the exciting work of the 8 friends groups in the neighborhood.
Residents discussed challenges in their parks, including issues with dogs at Transmitter Park, and the location of the farmers market at McGolrick Park. Neighbors spoke up about advocating for new parks, including BQGreen.
