Help Fight for BQGreen!

Tomorrow at 4 pm, Attend the Rally and Press Conference Urging Funding for BQGreen!
What: Rally and press conference calling for Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo to address the dangerously high rates of asthma and other illnesses in South Williamsburg caused by the BQE and the on/off ramp to the Williamsburg Bridge.

Community members and electeds will call on the Mayor and Governor to help remediate the situation by funding the construction of BQGreen, a park to be built over the BQE in South Williamsburg where it runs below the street level.

Members of the community will put up crime tape around Rodney Park North and wear gas masks at the event to help call attention to the public health emergency our community is facing.

More: BQGreen will create a 3.5 acre park “out of thin air” by building a concrete platform over a portion of the BQE that runs below the street level between S. Third and S. Fifth Streets. BQGreen will include grassy and wooded areas, a flower garden, a playground, a water play zone, a baseball diamond and barbecues. For more information, please visit bqgreen.org
