On November 2, 51 parks advocates, OSA Board Chair Mike Arnot, OSA Board Member and Community Community Chair Ward Dennis and North Brooklyn Parks Administrator Mary Salig participated in OSA’s annual Town Hall at McCarren Play Center.
The parks leaders fielded questions about a variety of topics including progress on Newtown Barge Park and Box Street Park, maintenance at Transmitter Park, the hours of bathrooms and lighting at McCarren, and seating at Continental Army Plaza.
The parks leaders also provided updates on the recent activities of OSA, NYC Parks and the neighborhood’s friends groups. Mary Salig discussed new projects recently funded by Mayor de Blasio including projects at Bushwick Inlet, McCarren, Marcy Green and William Sheridan Playground. The attendees also participated in a break-out session to discuss priorities for programming in 2018. The park lovers enjoyed rotisserie chicken, rice, beans, salad and plantains. OSA is most grateful for the support and input of the community!
